Featured artist and owner, Boban Bursac has an established reputation as a figurative painter and sculptor whose artistic methods and wide-ranging interests have made him a prominent figure throughout Europe. He began his career as a painter in 1968 at the University of Fine Art and Design in Sarajevo, in addition to studying sculpture with nationally known artists, such as  Kucukalic and  Bodnarov in Belgrade, Yugoslavia and Milan, Italy.  He taught in a number of key art schools and became a member of the IAA UNESCO (International Association of Art) in 1979. Boban moved to California in 1995, subsequently splitting his time between the United States and Europe.                                                                                    The underlying themes of his paintings have remained consistent throughout Boban’s artistic career. His portraits, landscapes and figure compositions draw upon everyday life, as well as mythical scenes for inspiration, combining elements of figuration and abstraction.  Boban’s imaginative technical abilities and his skill in the evocation of emotionally charged color are the notable characteristics of his paintings. Boban also creates monumental sculptures, such as water fountains made of marble and other types of stone, for public spaces and private collections.  In his sculptures, Boban strives to express concepts such as harmony with nature, liberty and tolerance.
